If you are using and existing chimney and flue upstairs, then you can add another fireplace to your basement room. All you have to do is to connect the two chimneys, and this can be done by building a chimney up to the backside of your existing fireplace and eventually breaking it through to connect the flues.

You can also keep your chimney sturdy enough even when natural calamities like earthquake happens by putting a #4 reinforcing bar in your chimney’s corners. However, the best place for your reinforcing bar is in the bricks’ cells by grouting it. If in some reasons, you were not able to place the reinforcing bars in the cells of your chimney bricks, you can have them placed between the flue liner and the rest of the bricks around.

The final steps, wrap the flue liners with ceramic fiber paper socks to seal the area.

The first thing that you will do is to know the real cause of leak. In order to know if your sink strainer causes the leak, stop the sink up and check occasionally if there is some water dripping, then check around the rubber gasket and near the lock nut. Now that your strainer is already set, it is now time for you to attach the gasket and the lock nut and have the drainpipe attach to the threaded end of the strainer. Make sure everything is secure and you will never have to experience any leaky sink strainer basket ever again.

Use plastic spaces for your grouting job later. After you have installed all the tiles, time now to cut tiles to fill gaps if needed.

Now that you have your tiles set, you can now remove the edging strip guide and start putting the edging pieces. Doing the back buttering style can be the simplest way to add the edging pieces.
